First Week of the Semester, Pre-semester Prompt:
Three paragraphs describing your history and development as a reader

In a few paragraphs, write your own literacy narrative, focusing primarily on your development as and experiences as a reader. Your narrative should answer the questions below; however, write it in paragraph form, not as a list of answers. It should be a full page to a page and a half when typed, double spaced and printed out in Times New Roman font

Post-semester prompt: the "value added"

Describe some of the things you have learned this semester about being a better academic reader and about incorporating readings into your writing. The final two body paragraphs describe some of the things you have learned this semester about being a better academic reader and about incorporating readings into your writing.

*Transition here! Following your first three pargraphs, you want to re-start your "essay" something like this:

"While I had some previous experiences as a reader, I have learned some valuable reading strategies this semester,
such as the Cornell note-taking format and the SQ4R strategy."
